Climate Change

 Ecclesiastes 1:6

The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course.

Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities. In addition, most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position. “Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring. Rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver.”

“Protect the earth from further damage caused by climate change” has been a resounding argument to promote other alternatives. Oppositions to climate change suspect that advocates of climate change are just selling alternative products to counter climate change supposedly. Both advocates and oppositions to climate change cannot escape the extreme winter wind chill. Wind chill practically exhibits that no human can control climate or weather. Nonetheless, each of us should participate and contribute whatever is proper and appropriate. Whichever we stand for, whatever we do will certainly have consequences in this life and in eternity! Extreme weather (hot or cold) should remind us that we need the Lord’s help. Christ says in Matthew 28:18, 1All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

By faith, we trust that what God allows is beneficial to our faith in Him—whether He allows climate change or prevents it. If climate change is real, it only proves that nothing on earth is permanent but Christ doesn’t change. In Hebrews 13:8, 8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Climate may change our attitude toward Him but Christ remains the same. Whether we grow cold or warm in our relationship with Him, Christ’s love for us won’t change.

Lord Jesus, bless me to never change but to remain faithful to You.
