Erratic

Ecclesiastes 8:1

8Who is like the wise? Who knows the explanation of things? A person’s wisdom brightens their face and changes its hard                appearance.

If you’ve been driving, you may have experienced a situation when another car suddenly cut your path. What was your initial reaction? Were you agitated, confused, bothered or disturbed? Did you blow your horn? Does blowing of horn help such erratic behavior in driving? Blowing of horn is beneficial to warn other drivers of erratic driving or just to awaken sleepy drivers. How often do you encounter reckless drivers who do not have any concern of others’ safety, and not readily appreciate it when other drivers blow their horns?

By the way, have you ever had emergency necessities while driving like: rushing to the washroom because of digestive system problem or late for an appointment, work or date? You may want to consider and think that over speeding drivers could be in those kinds of necessities. Undesirable situations caused by inconsiderate drivers can be instrumental also to test the level of our peace and patience, our spiritual readiness to forgive, and how much godly wisdom we’ve got. With godly wisdom, we can understand reckless drivers may have necessities or other problems, and we can forgive them if peace and patience prevails in us. Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 1:17, 17The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

As we grow deeper in our knowledge of the Lord, we come to know better that His plan includes events or circumstances that are unpleasant to us. When we drive very carefully, why would God allow us to be in a dangerous situation like: driving along with reckless drivers? Normally, we assume that we will be safe if we drive carefully, right? Do you drive by human expertise or godly effort? By faith, we pray for godly wisdom and safety so that we can smile instead of frowning when reckless drivers suddenly change lane with no signals or when they turn to the left or to the right erratically.

Lord Jesus, let Your peace prevail when I’m driving.
