Ecclesiastes 9:12

¹²Moreover, no one knows when their hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so people are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them. 

Regional Police say they are investigating a report of a loose needle found in a bag of Halloween candy on Sunday (October 31). According to police, officers were called after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a suspicious item found in a Halloween candy bag. Police say as the complainant was going through her Halloween candy she located a yellow blood sugar lancet needle inside the bag. Investigators say they have not received any additional complaints but police are asking parents to thoroughly check their children’s candy. 

“Trick” or “Treat” is assumed to be a lot of fun for participants who wish to collect as much candies as they can get from participating individuals. Yet, some individuals may accidentally or intentionally disturb or disrupt the thrill and amusement of participants which unfortunately, presents the reality of uncertainties in this world.

So, be prayerful on all occasions. Life on earth can be pleasant and unpleasant. See? Fish are supposed to enjoy swimming in the water; they do not even explore life on dry land; yet, they get caught in a fisher’s net and served as delicacy for someone. In like manner, with their capability to fly above ground, birds should be advantageous; but, humans can devise tricky snares and trap the overly confident bird.  Likewise, don’t get too much complacent when everything seems fine in your eyes; or, you would be surprised when expectation turns around.

It says in 1 Peter 5:8, ⁸Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Lord Jesus, let your wisdom prevail in me and help me be alert anytime.
