Pedestrian

Ecclesiastes 10:3

3Even as fools walk along the road, they lack sense and show everyone how stupid they are.

When the pedestrian light turned on to “go signal,” a pedestrian hurriedly crossed the street, without glancing to the right or to the left. Then all of a sudden, a rushing car tried to beat the red light and hit the pedestrian. Such tragic accident has been reported every now and then and not just during winter or rush hours, but anytime of the year.

There are possible speculated factors that may cause road accidents: haste, slippery roads, faulty traffic lights, not mindful of environment, obscure outfit and reckless or under influence drivers. Is it not wise for pedestrians to wear noticeable clothing and be mindful of the environment when crossing a busy road? The mindset of people in a hurry is focused on how to reach their destination faster. So, when pedestrians and motorists are in a hurry and not cautiously observant of their environment, could they quickly avoid accidents? Accident is not intentional; and when there’s lack of sense and not being wise, it can be termed as foolishness on the part of individuals who fail to make wise judgment.

Would you agree that everyone has a share of inattentiveness and also foolishness? It says in Proverbs 15:7-8, 7The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not upright. 8The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

And, whenever we are not mindful of our environments, whenever we fail to do what is right and proper, foolishness surface. It is but proper for us to pray for mindfulness and attentiveness; and, it is much beneficial for us if we always recognize the Lordship of Christ in our life. Apostle Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 1:30, You are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. When Jesus Christ, the wisdom from God, actively performs his Lordship in us, he saves us also from foolishness.

Lord Jesus, bless me, so that, I will always submit to your Lordship.
