Construction Season

Ecclesiastes 12:4

When the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs   grow faint

Summer is very wonderful time for bird watchers who love the sound of birds. Unfortunately, traffic Jam can steal summer excitement of travelling, if one is not prepared for it. Summer is construction season to repair roads severely damaged during freezing winter and spring rain. Nevertheless, traffic jam is a realistic example that there are many things we just cannot control.

We aspire for betterment in life, yet unavoidable but necessary activities may delay including expectation to advancement of career. We may wish to finish a project on time, but limited material may not be available when we need it. And sometimes, enthusiasm does not cooperate when everything is ready to commence. How can we enjoy life then? By faith, we believe 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, 21It is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Unpleasant delay of expectation tests us, if we still trust that God’s timeline is precise. By faith, we submit to the Lordship of Christ so that his Holy Spirit empowers us to prioritize necessary activities, and he enables us to enjoy life in its fullness despite the challenges of struggles and concerns of life. Submission to the Lordship of Christ is also regenerating work of his Holy Spirit in us. We must seek his help to submit to his Lordship and peacefully enjoy life in its fullness, as he promised to all who believe him.

Lord Jesus, help me submit to your Lordship always.
