Grasshopper

Ecclesiastes 12:5

5When people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when   the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets.

In a garden, a curious toddler observed a grasshopper hopped from one leaf to another. He wanted t to have a better look. He slowly moved nearer toward the grasshopper; when he tried to touch it, the grasshopper suddenly jumped away to the next plant. The toddler tried to catch the grasshopper, not once, not twice, not trice, but several times without success. The grasshopper jumped quicker than the boy’s reflexes. Exhausted, he stopped and saw another grasshopper on the ground; it was not moving. He squatted next to the grasshopper, but it did not jump like the other grasshopper he tried to catch earlier. He took a stick and touched the grasshopper. The grasshopper moved a little. Then, few ants came next to the grasshopper; more ants surrounded it. After a little while, the grasshopper was covered with many ants.

Death is the end of every living creature on earth. There’s time when young people are very energetic. They jump here and there like grasshopper and they explore anything to satisfy their curiosity. They hike the highest mountain, dive the deepest sea, test the patience of authorities, brave the wind of chance, and enterprise in unwarranted activities. If they will surpass their prime time, will spring blossoms still excite them?

Life span is limited for sure. To enjoy life journey whenever we can is a gift from our Creator.

We expect that Christ our Savior and Creator returns sooner. Will you be rewarded for the lifestyle you spent on earth? He said in Revelation 22:12, 12Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Lord Jesus, let my lifestyle be pleasant to you!
