Unprovoked

Psalm 3:1

1Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me!

One could be very careful, but it is reality that anytime, unprovoked bloodsheds may occur. One popular actor was charged with involuntary manslaughter for holding a gun that killed a person. Another person was also charged with the same involuntary manslaughter because she issued the gun.  Accordingly, the defendant claimed that he did not pull the trigger. Well, it is possible that he did not pull the trigger. Maybe, he just squeezed the trigger. Experts about guns would say that it has more accurate result to squeeze than to pull the trigger when firing a gun. Squeezed or pulled the trigger, how does it affect the penalty of the charge?

Unprovoked or not, how do we know if someone wants to harm us? How can we identify our enemy? How many are against us? No matter how we live, life on earth is still dangerous. It teaches us in 2 Timothy 3:12-17, 12In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Certainly, it is favorable to be careful and observant. And we should trust that the Lord uses all circumstances for our own good. It is also beneficial to follow the will of God. We can wisely know his will through the Scripture. The Lord had revealed in the Scripture how we may follow the right path for godly behaviors and attitudes that may earn us eternal treasure.

Lord Jesus, guide my step and follow you diligently.
