Relationship

Psalm 7:17

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.

If you were to reminisce and testify about your spiritual experience in the past year, how would you assess your personal relationship with the Lord? Do you conclude that you have grown mature spiritually? Do you sense that you have grown closer to the Lord? Has there been practical manifestation that the Lord granted your prayers, petition or entreaty?

A family had been regularly praying for their relative who struggled in life. Their relative had decided to explore opportunities for affluence and material comfort, but difficult circumstances made her life more challenging. Their appeal for the Lord to bless their relative brought praise and gratitude in their heart when they heard their relative shared with them that her dream of better practical comfort of life has started to thrive somehow. She also shared with them her feasible plans on how she would maximize her new found material comfort.

Personally reflect on what it declares in 1 Peter 3:12, 12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

We have been told again and again that the Lord is just a prayer away, but the Scripture teaches that the eyes of God watch the steps of the righteous, and he attentively hears their prayer. If you have been regularly praying for relatives or friends, whatever your petition could be, pray also for stronger faith to trust that the Lord has perfect timing when grants prayers. Sometimes, God prepares us to wait longer that we may expect, but when he grants our prayer items, there will certainly be praise and gratitude that we can sense in our heart. The Lord wants us to rejoice and praise him always.

Lord Jesus, help me see trust and praise you always
