Psalm 7:8
9Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure—you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts.
Emphatic individuals may use their freedom of expression to say anything they want to say. Is it proper? Are there limitations for freedom of expression? Anyone who may wish to express freedom should know what is acceptable, and know also that violent expression can be charged in the court of law. To venture in violent expression of freedom can be costly. Christ declares in John 8:34-36, 34Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
All mankind are slaves to sin. When sin tickles us to commit wickedness, we may react unmindfully. As slaves obey their master without complaint, we obey sin our master naturally. But when by faith we accepted Christ as Lord and Master of our life, we don’t hesitate to obey him, and at the same time, ignore sin, the former master. It declares in Romans 6:22-23, 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
By faith in Christ, we have been freed from the control of sin and become slaves of righteousness; but we still respond when sin tickles us, why? We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit of Christ always to resist sin. Only by God’s grace that we can totally escape from the control of sin and desire to behave in righteousness. It says in 1 John 1:8-9, 8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Lord Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit always!
