Psalm 9:16
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.
A jury reached a unanimous verdict and convicted a former president of the United State on felony charges. The guilty verdicts polarized both politicians and ordinary citizens of America and around the world. One popular celebrity said that the guilty verdict mean, “Justice was served.” Political opponents may claim that he got what he deserves. In comparison, supporters of the former US president are hoping that his conviction would be overturned at the Court of Appeals. His former vice president said that the conviction of the former president on politically motivated charges is an outrage and disservice to the nation. “No one is above the law, but our courts must not become a tool to be used against political opponents. This was nothing more than a political prosecution driven to indict the former president, and this conviction undermines confidence in our system of justice. This conviction also sends a terrible message to the wider world about the American justice system and only further divides us at a time when the American people are struggling under the failed policies of the current administration at home and abroad,” he added.
While political drama could be a motivation of indictment against the former president, if he acted legally according to the law of the land, the charges in which he was convicted should be nullified. Likewise, the law of God was established as basis to convict anyone who sins against him. God is just and righteous judge. It declares in Psalm 45:6, 6Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. Anyone who disobeys his commands will be punished. However, God pardons believers who accept Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
Lord Jesus, please strengthen my faith in you!
