Attack

Psalm 7:12-13

12 If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. 13 He has prepared his deadly weapons; he makes ready his flaming arrows. Attack

They were informed that terrorists were planning to attack them anytime. They just don’t know when. Then all of a sudden, a surprise attack happened; unsuspecting civilians were killed; young and old hostages were taken somewhere. So what do you expect? They retaliated.

Anywhere around the world, in the past and at present, hostile individuals intentionally exposed their notoriety. There will always be rebellion even against righteousness. Someone may try to promote confusion anywhere, even among God’s people. Accordingly, one third of glorious angels become hideous devils after they rebelled against the gracious and loving God; they were thrown out of heaven and condemned for eternal torment. The devil will keep on trying until its appointed time set for eternal torture, to bring damage to the work of God. And Christ declares in John 5:17:17 “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” God is always busy working as he prepares against possible attack on his people. We cannot be so sure that we will always be safe.

God allows situations and events to happen according to his purposes. We cannot always avoid aggression but it is far better to be peace-loving person. Christ teaches in Matthew 5:9, 9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. And it states in James 3:18, 18Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Christ the author of life knows that life in this world can be worrisome, but he commands us not to worry. Instead, he invites us to find rest in him. And we should ask the Lord to help us follow his instruction practically and spiritually so that we may find rest in him.

Lord Jesus, please fill me with you Holy Spirit always.
