Model

Psalm 9:2

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

There was a very talented basketball player. He was previously desired and sought-after player, and basketball coaches wanted him to be part of their team. He was a model to many young basketball enthusiasts. For not verbally given reason, this NBA player has transferred from one team to another and ended up playing with the first team that drafted him. NBA Teams traded him after playing with them for few months; observers assume that it was because of his frequent complaining against the coaching staff that they traded him.

There was another NBA player with high level of skill in playing basketball almost similar to the basketball player mentioned above. This particular player was also one of the most-sought after players by NBA Teams, and he was also a model to millions of Basketball fanatics. He played with the same NBA Team that drafted him until he retired from playing basketball, and he received a salary almost ten times more than what is offered to the player mentioned above. He was the star player of his team; yet, he was very respectful to his coaches and teammates. The attitude of this respectful NBA player may help us remember the attitude of King David. King David was the greatest king of Israel, how? He praised and gave glory to the Lord. He declared in 2 Samuel 22:32-33, 32 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? 33 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Like King David, we praise God with all our heart. Even with difficult circumstances, we thank God for it and ask him for help. Let’s tell others of wonders that God did in our life. Let every word we say be expression of praise and gratitude to the Lord, and be inspiration and encouragement to others.

Lord Jesus, bless me to behave and please you.
