Psalm 10:4

⁴ In his pride the wicked man does   not seek him; in all his thoughts   there is no room for God.

The 2024 Summer Olympics may have been the most watched program worldwide. And the media are busy in their editing room, to sell their articles about particular situations in the Olympics, but maybe to discredit or not the credibility of the Olympics. They publish about misbehaving athletes who were sent home before they can even participate in the games. Some winners were disqualified because they did not follow rules and regulations of the games. There were athletes and personalities who complained about their dwellings or food. Even religious people complained, and viewers cried foul about inappropriate shows they assume as attack to their religion.

Complaints, problems and other challenging circumstances surrounding the Olympics practically exhibits that we cannot find any room in this temporal world where we can perfectly have peace and contentment, why? God has designed that perfect peace and eternal contentment can only be experienced in heaven. We pray that everyone may aspire to enter heaven one day somehow. Moreover, Christ Jesus our Lord invites everyone to find rest in him in Matthew 11:28-30, ²⁸“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. ²⁹Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

If you are weary and burdened, get rest from Christ. Burdensome weariness has no room in us, if we placidly enjoy rest in Christ. We prayerfully seek empowerment of his Holy Spirit to gladly behave righteously according to the teaching of Christ. His teaching is open-secret prescription to gladly enjoy rest from burden of weariness.
