Psalm 11:7

7For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.

“Your honor! Mr. Chair! I cannot remember the details of what happened,” one accused of illegal activities justified his actions. To help them create, revise or legislate better laws, the legislators are investigating illegal activities. It says in Romans 4:15, 15Where there is no law there is no transgression. Many illegal activities could be punished if the justice system impartially interprets the law. There are unscrupulous and corrupt individuals, and there are also upright and honest judges. An upright judge rightfully interprets the law and issues appropriate judgment. The defendant may appeal, but what can an upright judge gain for honest and accurate judgment?

Someone told a fiction about a judge and a pastor who entered heaven at the same time. St. Peter showed the pastor his ordinary home in heaven, and he showed the judge his mansion at the top of a hill. The confused pastor asked St. Peter, “Why am I given ordinary home while this judge has a mansion?” “Well, it is very rare for a judge to enter heaven. You know what I mean?” St. Peter replied. Apostle Paul testified in 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 16For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! 17If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.

Have you read a decree in the Scripture that God rewards us according to our office or social status? God is just. No matter how simple or complicated our circumstances are, the Lord rewards us according to how we uprightly and diligently accomplish our mission purposes, and not according to office or social status.

Lord Jesus, help me diligently accomplish my mission purposes.
