Psalm 16:9
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.
LSS or Last Song Syndrome refers to experience when certain song got stuck in the mind and most often, specific parts of the song are unmindfully repeated. After worship service, you were gladly singing unconsciously a particular song. Have you experienced such? Has the Lord inspired us to cheerfully keep singing praises to him? The Scripture emphasized the command to rejoice in Philippians 4:4, 4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Rejoicing is fruit of the Holy Spirit. The Lord wants us to rejoice always as practical proof of the Holy Spirit in us. He wants us to be reminded always that we are citizens of heaven, and rejoicing now on earth is partial experience of eternal rejoicing in the Lord. Sometimes, it is easy for us to be sidetrack, mislead and entertain worldly pattern of life. We are confused to be concerned of temporal difficulties, then lost focus on the grace of God.
Why does God allow difficulties if we are assured of eternal life?
Reflect on Judges 3:1-2, 4, 1These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2(he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience): 3the five rulers of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the Lebanon mountains from Mount Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath. 4They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the Lord’s commands. Similarly, when the Lord wants us to know him deeper, problems we face can be testing of faith in him. The Lord may allow financial problem to test us if we trust him as provider. He may allow health issues to test us if we trust him as healer. By faith, we trust that God fills our heart with gladness, thankfulness and praise to pass his test.
Lord Jesus, increase my faith in you..
