Psalm 16:11

¹¹You make known to me the path of   life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.            

The Lord is always reaching out to anyone who would trust him. He initiates the first step to reconcile us to him. After sin invaded the world, mankind tried to establish his own path of life by his own effort apart from God. But deliberately, God graciously redirects us to the path of reconciliation to himself through faith in Jesus. Any path of life outside the design of God is not the very best. Naturally, we can be deceived to think that we can find better path of life by our own instinctive effort. But if we do not know the best path of life that our Creator established and designed for us, how can we find it?

Praise God for his declaration in Ephesians 2:8-10, ⁸For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—⁹not by works, so that no one can boast. ¹⁰For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

By faith in Jesus Christ, God saved us from path of life that leads to eternal destruction. We now follow Christ, the only Way that gives us to eternal life with him. But while we wait for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we should diligently practice what it advised in Proverbs 4:13, ¹³Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.

Instructions from the Lord serve as our guideline as we traverse any darkest valley of problems that we may venture into. Of course, we have to be aware always and inquire of the Lord for each practical path we should take. Praying for the Lord’s guidance is practice of faith in him. Our gracious God lovingly guides us to best path he designed for us. He wants us to gloriously grow into the image of his Son Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, help me grow into your image.
