Psalm 10:16
16The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.
The Ancient city of Athens had many philosophers and intellectuals. Interestingly, it was not included in the Scripture if ever Apostle Paul and his mission team had planted a church in Athens. Intellectuals can be hard soil where the seed of the gospel may take longer time to sprout, why? It is not by intellect or human logic we believe in Christ. Human logic and intellect will perish. But by the grace of God through his gift of faith, we are saved from eternal hell, and not by human effort or logic so that we cannot brag about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Apostle Paul testified before a meeting of philosophers in the city of Athens in Acts 17:24-27, 24The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. 26From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. 27God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.
Can you accept that God decides where we should live, and when we should live? Inhabitants may claim ownership of their land, but we believe that the Lord created heaven and this earth. God decides that believers will live in heaven, and he decides also who may occupy the land he created.
Lord Jesus, thank you for bringing us to a land of abundance.
