Psalm 10:13
13Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”?
Everyone who attends political rallies could not be counted as sure voters for particular candidates. Some attendees of political rallies observe to revile, condemn or despise anything that could be detrimental to their favored political candidates. Similarly, there are church attendees who may actually attend in person or just view online worship services but they are not necessarily be accounted as committed participants. Serious Christians will put into practice the prescription of the Lord for better life experiences while revilers would disregard with contempt anything biblical; they may even harshly criticize anything that may contradict their worldly behavior and lifestyle. Furthermore, believers who conform to the pattern of worldly behavior may not be aware that they indirectly revile or scorn the prescription of the Lord for fullness of life. All believers are warned in Revelation 3:14-16, 14To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
The deeds of the church of Laodicea were recorded as warning for every Christian. No one is exempted. The Lord will call an accounting for every deed we make, whether he will reward or forfeit what he prepared for our deeds. Advent Season is just around the corner. Celebration of Advent Season should remind us that the return of Christ is imminent. Do not be caught by surprise. We have to be more active in storing up for ourselves eternal treasure in heaven.
Lord Jesus, help me store up eternal treasures.
