Psalm 18:12
12Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
The brightness of God is covered behind dark clouds. Dark clouds represents the boundary that God designed for him not to be seen physically. The Lord chose not to show himself to our naked eyes or else we will die. The holiness of God is too glorious that sinful humans cannot survive. By his grace, God inspires us to understand and believe him. Hailstones and bolts of lightning should be tangible enough to prove the existence of a powerful God. No human can stop the hailstone and lightning. God can choose where hailstone or lighting strikes.
It reminds us in Exodus 9:23-26, 23The Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt; 24hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. 25 Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields—both people and animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped every tree. 26The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.
The wickedness of Pharaoh caused him to reject the command of the Lord to let the Israelites go. Wickedness causes us to disregard warnings from the Lord. We have no valid excuse or argument to deny the existence of God. It revealed in Romans 1:-20, 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
However, God loved us so much. By his grace, God sent his most precious Son Jesus Christ and sacrificially crucified for the forgiveness of our sins. And it is by faith that we cheerfully trust and obey Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
Lord Jesus, thank you for forgiving me.
