Psalm 11:4
4 The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.
The Lord watches over us. He examines whatever we do, think, say or desire as basis for appropriate reward or punishment. If Christ returns in our lifetime or not, we leave this temporal life eventually. Reflect on what it says in Hebrews 9:27, 27Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.
Someone sent a message and told me that one of our friends died. He did not elaborate the cause of death. I responded to the message and told him that the tragic news is a reminder for all of us; we don’t know for sure when our life ends. I reminded him to be certain of his eternal life. He answered that he is very sure of his eternal life knowing that he has Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.
As I pondered upon his response, I wondered if he really internalized having Jesus Christ as Lord of his life. Is Jesus Christ fulltime Lord of his life or just partly? Does Jesus Christ lord over his words, actions, thoughts and desires? Does Jesus Christ direct him take his step, make his plans, or follow his dreams? Does Jesus Christ guide him in his daily task, or every detail of his life? Most often than not, we don’t like to be called losers because of pride. We don’t even want to reveal our spiritual needs to other people. Telling other people we are saved and having Jesus Christ in our heart cannot change the reality of our true spiritual condition. Our actions, our words, our thoughts and desires reveal to us if we truly have healthy spiritual state. It reminds us in Proverbs 15:3, 3The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
Lord Jesus, please prevail over every detail of my life.
