Colossians 1:6b

6bIn the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.

As a person who grew up in a family of Christian believers and in the context of a local Christian church, I used to be ashamed of my testimony because it didn’t involve a huge transformation from a former life of extreme sin. Hearing folks share their experiences of lives changed by the Gospel from dire circumstances didn’t seem to apply to me. However, God, in His own way, revealed to me that going to church and coming from a family of believers does not mean I am not in need of His grace in my life. I am in need of His grace and transformation as much as the next person.

God led me to question, what does His grace and His salvation mean in my life? What does it mean to have a personal relationship with him? What are sins and burdens in my life that I need to surrender to God? How is the Gospel bearing fruit in my life?

May we continue to witness God’s grace and salvation in the trials that we may face in this life as we await His returning. May we never be lukewarm and stagnant in our relationship with God by having faithful communion with Him. May we learn to surrender to His Sovereignty day by day. May our lives bear fruit and continue to be transformed by God’s work in our lives.

Lord, please continue to truly understand Your grace and Your Gospel. Please lead me to be someone that shares Your Good News to those around me.
